Police-casino security arrest 12 from ‘loud party’ at the Rio, 5 guns recovered
LAS VEGAS NV Aug 21 2018
Las Vegas Metropolitan police said several “known gang members” were arrested at the Rio hotel-casino early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the Rio around 2 a.m. to assist security in breaking up a loud party, Metro Police said. When officers and security arrived, they found several firearms and arrested some “known gang members.”
According to Las Vegas police, twelve arrests were made. Police later clarified one was booked through Clark County Detention Center and two were booked in North Las Vegas.
On Monday, police identified Corey Johnson, Phillip Semper, Jerome Francis, Michael Green, Ashley Medlock, Steven Neal, Lexus Sherman, Antron Simms and Antonio Williams as the suspects who were arrested Sunday.
Johnson and Semper were arrested for one felony count each of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, according to police.
Medlock said it was not a gang party and that police came with no warning.
The remaining ten suspects had active warrants for their arrests for charges unrelated to Sunday’s events, Metro Police said. Three of those were unnamed by Metro Police because their warrants were from other jurisdictions.
