Police chase suspects who took thousands worth of items from VA Ulta store
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. Feb 10 2020— A group of people arrested after a police chase earlier this week may be connected to multiple shoplifting crimes involving thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise.
On Wednesday night, seven people stormed into the Ulta at Chesterfield Towne Center — some with duffle bags.
Crime Insider sources tell Jon Burkett that the group wiped the shelves, filling the duffle bags with merchandise including thousands of dollars’ worth of perfume.
Those sources say an alert manager gave a good description of the getaway vehicle and a nearby officer picked up on the silver Ford pick-up truck fleeing the scene.
The driver of that truck refused to pull over, leading police on a chase with speeds in excess of 100 through Henrico, Hopewell, and Prince George into Sussex County.
The truck crashed after colliding with a trooper at mm 37 on I-95 South in Carson.
Four suspects, from Tampa, Florida, were taken into custody, including a woman who is seven months pregnant. They have all been charged in connection to the Ulta shoplifting.
Tonae Crawford, 26, of Tampa, Florida, was arrested and charged with grand larceny, conspiracy to commit a felony and giving a false ID to law enforcement.
Raven Wimbush, 29, of Tampa, Florida, was arrested and charged with grand larceny, conspiracy to commit a felony and giving a false ID to law enforcement.
Alonzo Jones Jr., 27, of Tampa, Florida, was arrested and charged with grand larceny and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Earnisha Williams, 25, of Tampa, Florida, was arrested and charged with grand larceny, conspiracy to commit a felony, eluding, reckless driving and driving without a license.
Miles Turner from law enforcement LLC says the arrests will most likely help police across the country solve cases.
“I’m sure detectives handling it and prosecutors will say well you’re looking at four felonies and 15 years here in the commonwealth. So, maybe you can tell us who’s putting you up to this and we can work a deal… and most will take that deal,” said Turner.
The Chesterfield Towne Center Ulta beauty store was the second Ulta location to be robbed this week, according to Crime Insider sources. They say the Ulta store in Short Pump was hit Monday.
Three suspects from the Chesterfield Towne Center heist are still at large. They were last seen fleeing the scene in a jeep, according to Crime Insider sources.
