Police Recover $500,000 Worth Of Stolen Cosmetics From Storage Unit
BERKELEY, CA May 13 2017—Two San Leandro residents were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of buying or receiving about $500,000 of goods stolen in robberies of CVS and Walgreens pharmacies in Berkeley, police said today.
Rosa Jimenez, 43, and her boyfriend Enrique Rodriguez, 50, were arrested and taken to Berkeley’s jail following a search of a storage unit and Jimenez’s home in the 2000 block of San Leandro Boulevard.
The goods included cosmetics. Some allegedly still had Walgreens and CVS stickers on them.
Police said they arrested four suspects on Feb. 6 who they believe are responsible for five robberies in Berkeley and another incident at a Walgreens in San Francisco.
The alleged robberies in Berkeley occurred in January and February of this year, according to police.
Detectives believe the alleged robberies were or are part of a series of robberies in the San Francisco Bay Area to steal cosmetics from CVS and Walgreens.
