Police: Waltham woman stole from three Natick Mall stores
NATICK MA July 21 2019 – Police are accusing a Waltham woman of stealing two dozen items of clothing from three Natick Mall stores on Thursday.
Yeime S. Maximo, 40, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. after she tried to leave Macy’s with a bag full of merchandise, authorities said.
On Thursday, Macy’s store security began watching Maximo when she was in the Nautica section of the store because she was carrying an empty shopping bag and that section of the store is a high-theft area, according to a police report filed Friday in Natick District Court.
“She appeared to be selecting merchandise that did not have security sensors,” police wrote in the report.
Maximo then went to the Tommy Hilfiger department and took several clothing items off the shelf, as well as items from the Polo department. She then went into a dressing room with the clothing and empty shopping bag.
“When Maximo exited the fitting room approximately five minutes later she was not carrying any merchandise and the empty bag that she had been carrying now appeared to be full,” police wrote in the report.
Store security stopped Maximo after she left the store and called police, according to the report.
Police discovered Maximo also had several items of clothing stolen from Lord & Taylor and American Eagle.
In all, police wrote in the report that Maximo stole 20 different shirts, a bra, two children dresses and a pair of shorts. The value of the stolen items was about $1,050, police wrote in the report.
Police arrested Maximo, of 46 High St., and charged her with shoplifting of property worth more than $250 and two counts of receiving stolen property worth less than $1,200.
During Maximo’s arraignment Friday in Natick District Court, Judge David Cunis agreed to dismiss the charges against Maximo if she completes 20 hours of community service by Aug. 17.
