Polk County FL July 31 2018
91 Security Officers, have completed 144 Hours of specialized training with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and tonight, they will receive the pay-off to their hard work.
The 94 officers who underwent background and drug screenings, firearms and active shooter training, physical and practical exams and much more, will all be sworn by the sheriff.
The class, a mix of men and women, some young, some with years of security or law enforcement experience and others who may have had little to no prior experience, are all now well trained and ready to go when those school doors open just weeks away said Polk County sheriff, Grady Judd.
These men and women will be there should an armed intruder enter any one of our schools.
They are prepared, trained and will defend and protect your child should this ever happen Judd said.
