Portland man charged with threatening security officer with knife
PORTLAND, Ore. March 6 2018 – Police arrested a 23-year-old in Downtown Portland on Sunday afternoon, accused of threatening a security guard with a pocket knife.
There were no reports of injuries, Portland Police said.
Nathan Kappel was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on several charges, including unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, escape III, and meth possession. He’s being held on $41,500 bail.
Officers were called out about 5:20 p.m. on reports that a man was brandishing a pocket knife near SW 5th Avenue and West Burnside Street.
Initial reports say Kappel got into a confrontation with a security officer.
Arriving police took Kappel into custody.
