Portland security officer shot to death in his vehicle
Portland OR May 13th, 2022 The man shot near South Waterfront Park last week was a 22-year-old security guard who was working at the time he was killed, Portland police said Thursday.
Sircharles Marc Anthony Jones was shot outside the Residence Inn Riverplace-Marriott, a South Waterfront hotel where he worked as a security guard.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2100 block of South River Parkway about 3:20 a.m. last Friday and found Jones dead inside a vehicle, police said at the time.
Investigators examined a blue Toyota SUV parked at the scene near the Residence Inn hotel and
Police said they found no suspect at the scene, which borders the waterfront trail and Poet’s Beach along the Willamette River.
This investigation is on-going.
