Random Attacks On Security Officers Rising
Charlotte NC March 29 2018
Since Feb 9 of this year there has been 16 random attacks on uniformed security officers in 11 states.
It started with an unprovoked attack on a security officer working at an Atlanta Georgia McDonald’s. While walking the parking lot, an unknown subject ran up and attacked the security officer leaving him with facial and head injuries.
The assailant disappeared and no one has been arrested.
The security officer was treated at the city hospital for his injuries.
Attacks, all seemingly unrelated, have now happened at shopping centers, colleges, a movie theater and a wine and cheese shop.
The latest attack occurred at a Spokane Walmart store where a contract security officer was patrolling the parking lot of the business when suddenly he was attacked.
Just before midnight on Monday the Army veteran was working his second job as a security job. He was driving through a Walmart parking lot in North Spokane, when a man who had just walked past him with a couple of shopping bags walked up behind him and suddenly swung open his door.
“He reached in with his left hand, grabbed me by my shirt, and punched me in the head as hard as he could. It was a haymaker.”
Rutter says the punch actually knocked him out for a few moments.
The suspect fled and has not been arrested.
