Repeat trespasser allegedly defecates outside casino
BETHLEHEM, Pa. Jan 22 2019 – Sands security told Bethlehem police that a California man detained for trespassing defecated on casino property before his arrest.
Bethlehem police were dispatched to the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem about 3:45 a.m. Jan. 13 for a report of a trespasser. Sands security told police that Jin Longzhu, of Los Angeles, was detained after having been formally evicted from the casino in March 2018, according to court records.
Security said they handcuffed the 49-year-old because he had allegedly become violent with security personnel. As a Bethlehem police officer transferred Longzhu to his handcuffs, he allegedly tried again to kick a security guard.
Police said Longzhu smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes. Court records indicate that Longzhu had been charged with trespassing four times by Bethlehem police and once by Pennsylvania State Police.
Sands security told police they had spotted Longzhu defecating near a public street behind some trees.
Authorities charged Longzhu with misdemeanor counts of defiant trespass and open lewdness and summary counts of public drunkenness and harassment. District Judge Vivian Zumas arraigned him, setting bail at $5,000. Longzhu failed to post bail and was sent to Northampton County Prison to await a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for Friday.
