Richland County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a man for attempted murder of security officer

An arrest has been made in a shooting that happened at Hookah on the River that injured a security guard.
James Alterique White, 22, was arrested and charged on Monday with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful carry of a pistol, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
On May 2, around 3 a.m., deputies responded to a call at Hookah on the River on Broad River Road when they heard shots fired.
Deputies described the scene as chaotic, with patrons running scared in all directions.
They found a security guard who was shot in the upper body. He was taken to a local hospital.
There is no information on his condition.
