Police responded to a shooting incident at the Village Mall in Rio de Janeiro’s Barra da Tijuca area as of late June 25.
The shooting occurred amid an attempted robbery of a jewelry store at the mall; one security guard died after being shot in the exchange of gunfire with the criminals before they fled the scene.
