Rio Hotel Security Nab Robbery Suspects
LAS VEGAS NV Feb 1 2018
It started as a typical order for sandwiches at a Las Vegas Subway restaurant and ended in a robbery and capture of the suspects by area hotels security officers.
Just before 4:30 a.m., two men and a woman ordered food at the Subway at 7040 S. Durango, but then left without paying, according to Metro Lt. David Gordon.
The clerk told police he chased the trio into the parking lot, where they beat him up, stole his car, and took off. The victim was not seriously injured and did not require hospital treatment.
While Metro Las Vegas police tracked the group and the stolen car to the Rio Hotel at Flamingo and Valley View, security officers already put on high alert soon joined the chase.
Rio Hotel security officers were able to quickly detain the woman and one man wanted in the robbery.
Metro police soon joined in with hotel security and after a brief chase around the resort property, police took the third suspect into custody.
NOTE: This is an excellent example of how police and security officers frequently combine their efforts to make our communities safer.
