Robber threw hot coffee on armored truck courier, stole money bag
Lithonia GA Sept 8 2017 A robbery suspect threw hot coffee on an armored truck courier before making off with an unspecified amount of money early Monday, officials said.
The Loomis Armored Car employee was servicing an ATM inside a QuikTrip in the 2700 block of Panola Road in Lithonia when he was attacked, FBI Atlanta Special Agent Stephen Emmett said.
The robber managed to throw the hot cup of joe onto the courier, steal a bag filled with money and leave the convenience store, Emmett said. Police did not provide details on the courier’s injuries.
The suspect is believed to be in his mid-20s and between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-9 with a slender build. He was wearing a white construction-type helmet and yellow safety vest with brown work boots and sunglasses.
