Salem Regional Medical Center patient claims security assaulted him

A confrontation between a patient and a security officer turned physical according to police.
Officers responded at 11:06 p.m. Wednesday to the Salem Regional Medical Center after a man who was being treated at the hospital claimed that he was assaulted by a security officer.
The man said the security guard threatened him and swung on him while he was there receiving treatment.
Officers spoke to both parties and the man was told he could write a statement at the police department if he wanted after being treated.
Police said that no arrests were made.
 Information will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.
