San Antonio police officer charged with shoplifting
SAN ANTONIO TX Jan 21 2018
A veteran San Antonio police officer has been charged with theft after being accused of shoplifting at a mall while off-duty.
San Antonio police on Friday announced 40-year-old Officer Stephanie Solis was put on administrative leave amid the investigation. Solis was arrested Thursday afternoon on a report of a suspected shoplifter detained by loss prevention officers at Ingram Park Mall.
Police say Solis, who’s been a San Antonio officer for nine years, allegedly hid merchandise in her purse and walked out of a store without paying.
She was charged with misdemeanor theft and released Friday on $1,000 bond. Online jail records did not list additional information for Solis or an attorney to speak for her.
Police didn’t immediately say which store was involved or what items were reported stolen.
