San Antonio Security Officer Gunned Down Confronting Suspicious Persons
SAN ANTONIO TX May 4th, 2024 — A security officer at a northeast side motel was shot and killed after he confronted two suspicious people, police say.
San Antonio Police responded to the 6900 block of I-35 near Eisenhauer Road around 1:45 a.m. Saturday for reports of a shooting.
When the officers arrived, they found the security officer with a gunshot wound. They performed life-saving measures but were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.
Police say the security guard was checking on two suspicious people in the back of the motel when he got into an argument with them. The two suspects drove around to the front of the motel and the guard followed them. Police say one of the suspects pulled out a weapon and pointed it at the security officer. That’s when a woman, believed to be the security guard’s wife or girlfriend got involved and threw a rock at the suspect’s vehicle.
As soon as the woman threw the rock the suspect shot and killed the security officer, and then drove away.
No suspect or vehicle description was provided.
Officials say the security guard is not associated with a company, but believed to be an in-house security officer who may have lived at the hotel.
No other injuries were reported.
