San Francisco club security detain men for pick-pocketing from 12 victims
SAN FRANCISCO CA August 1 2019
Officers arrested two men accused of pick-pocketing patrons inside a downtown San Francisco nightclub early Saturday, according to police.
Around 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a club in the 400 block of Jessie Street for a report of two suspects suspected of stealing cellphones.
The club’s security guards detained the pair and told officers that multiple patrons had said their cellphones and wallets had been snatched out of their pockets inside the club.
A security guard also saw the suspect work with his partner to remove a cellphone from a woman’s back pocket, police said.
When the security guards confronted the suspects, they searched them and found multiple cellphones inside one of the suspect’s pockets. That suspect tried to flee, but the guards were able to stop him.
When the second suspect emptied his pockets, security guards also found stolen property on him, according to police.
Police identified the suspects as Brandon Godoy-Arevalo, 24, of San Francisco, and Christopher Duran, 23, of Daly City. Officers arrested them on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy and grand theft.
In all, officers were able to return property to at least 12 patrons, police said.
