Sandy City Police Chief William O’Neal dies after ‘unfortunate medical event’

The Police Chief William “Bill” O’Neal died from natural causes Sunday afternoon after experiencing an “unfortunate medical event,” according to a statement by Sandy police.
His specific cause of death has not been released.
O’Neal served with the Sandy City Police Department since August 1996. He was sworn in as chief of police in July 2018.
“Please keep Chief O’Neal and his family in your thoughts and prayers,” the statement read.
