Saskatoon security guard assaulted-2 people arrested
Saskatoon Canada Nov 25 2017 A man and a woman were arrested after an alleged assault on a Saskatoon security guard.
Officers responded to a business on the 300 block of Confederation Drive around 7:10 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release.
A security guard had been assaulted by two shoplifters he was trying to arrest, the release said. The guard was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police located the two suspects, a 35-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman from Calgary, in a parked vehicle on the 700 block of Idylwyld Drive North just after 9 p.m. Officers seized meth, stolen property, stolen ID and stolen documents, the release said.
The suspects have been charged with theft under $5,000, assault and possessing a controlled substance, with more charges pending. They are scheduled to appear before a justice of the peace Friday evening.
