Save-A-Lot security officer held at gunpoint during shoplifting incident

Rockford police are investigating an armed robbery involving several teens.
A security officer working at the Save-A-Lot on West State Street spotted the teens taking merchandise and not paying for it.
As the teens attempted to walk out of the store with the merchandise the security officer the teens and that’s when one of them pulled a handgun.
The security officer backed away and the teens fled on foot.
The suspects are believed to be 15 to 16 years old.
