School Police Sergeant Found Dead at Hollywood Hills Elementary School
Los Angeles CA December 11 2018 Los Angeles police were investigating the death of a law enforcement officer whose body was found Sunday at an elementary school in the Hollywood Hills.
The school district sergeant was found about 4:15 p.m. at or near Valley View elementary school at 6921 Woodrow Wilson Drive, according to police.
Although Valley View Elementary is in the Los Angeles Unified School District, it hasn’t been confirmed that the deceased officer was a member of the LAUSD police force.
A LAPD desk officer said the death is being investigated as a possible suicide, but the cause of death has not been revealed by authorities.
The officer’s identity was withheld pending notification of kin.
Police have closed streets around the school for the investigation.

The body of Douglas Campbell, 46, of Torrance was found about 4:15 p.m. Sunday at Valley View Elementary School, 6921 Woodrow Wilson Drive, school police officials said.
According to Campbell’s online resume, posted to Linkedin.com, he was a Los Angeles School Police sergeant who had joined the department in 2005. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1996 to 2000, and briefly worked as an officer with the Trinidad Police Department in Northern California before enlisting, the profile states.
