School security guard arrested after police pursuit
APPLE VALLEY CA April 26 2018 — A 33-year-old man was arrested after authorities say he led deputies on a high-speed pursuit through a school zone here early Tuesday morning.
According to authorities, the pursuit began after San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Apple Valley Station deputies observed a black Honda motorcycle speeding and passing motorists on the right shoulder of eastbound Highway 18 near Rancherias Road.
The motorcycle was reportedly traveling more than 100 mph and matched the description of a recently stolen black Honda motorcycle in the area, authorities said.
The driver, identified as Damiunte Tyree Esquire Stylewalker, turned south on Navajo Road and came to a stop at a stop sign. At that point, Deputy Jonathan Walsh pulled behind him and activated his overhead lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop.
“Stylewalker looked at Walsh and immediately pulled around several motorists and accelerated away southbound on Navajo Road, failing to yield to Deputy Walsh’s lights and siren,” sheriff’s officials said.
“Walsh pursued Stylewalker as Stylewalker sped thru traffic, past occupied school buses and through an occupied school zone before he pulled into a school parking lot on Navajo Road. Stylewalker was detained without incident.”
According to authorities, it was discovered that Stylewalker was a security guard at the school and he was arrested on suspicion of felony reckless evading and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
