School security guard pleads guilty to rape of student
ALBION NY May 24 2017 – A retired police officer admitted in Orleans County Court Monday that he had a sexual relationship with a student at Holley High School while working there as a security officer.
Adam C. Mesiti, 46, of Brockort waived his right to a grand jury proceeding and pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree rape. The plea deal calls for a sentence of no more than six months in jail and 10 years’ probation.
Mesiti also will have to register as a sex offender.
Mesiti, who retired from Brockport Police Department in 2013, was arrested in March after an investigation revealed he had sex with a girl under 17 numerous times in the fall of 2014. The incidents happened at school and at locations outside school, police said.
Mesiti was working for C.O.P. Security at the time. He had been charged with 20 counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, 20 counts of third-degree rape and 30 counts of misdemeanor sexual abuse.
Mesiti had not been working at the school for more than a year when he was arrested. He owns Five Sons Winery in Brockport.
Judge James Punch set sentencing for Aug. 21.
