Secret Service officer charged for owning, distributing child porn
Maryland March 9 2018 A Secret Service officer has been arrested and charged for owning and distributing child pornography, according to Maryland State police.
Jeffrey Litteral, 52, has been charged with possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, possession of obscene material, and distribution of obscene material.
In 2017, an investigator received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about possible child pornography being uploaded on the internet. The investigator confirmed the material was child pornography and initiated an investigation.
Litteral was arrested on a warrant at about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday near his home. He was taken before a court commissioner for an initial appearance and was held without bond.
A search warrant for his residence was served at his home. Investigators recovered electronic equipment that will be forensically examined.
The investigation is continuing. Additional charges are possible.
