Laredo TX April 26 2022 A security guard has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a student at the United High School 9th Grade Campus, according to an arrest affidavit.
On April 11, Ernesto Plascencia Jr., 49, was served with an arrest warrant charging him with assault. He was released on bond that same day, according to Webb County Jail records.
Plascencia was employed with United ISD for a period of seven years until his voluntary resignation on March 29, according to district officials. Prior to his resignation, Plascencia had been placed on administrative leave.
Authorities said the incident unfolded on March 3, when the student was walking tardy to class. Then, he heard Plascencia asking him where his class was. The student told him it was downstairs. Plascencia called him over and repeatedly asked the student where his class was, according to court documents.
The student claimed that Plascencia told his girlfriend, “(Are you) still with that ugly guy,” The student then told Plascencia, “Acual feo (Which ugly guy),” according to the affidavit.
“(The student) then further added that Plascencia then got in his face, grabbed him by his left arm and said ‘What are you going to do’ in an intimidating manner,” states the affidavit.
Plascencia then grabbed the student by the throat, according to court documents.
In an interview with UISD police, Plascencia stated that the student was not walking toward his class. Plascencia stated he told three students to get to class. Plascencia then claimed that someone called him a “p****.” The student then told Plascencia he thought he was “all that.” When Plascencia asked the student what he was going to do about it, the student stated, “Nothing, because you’re wearing a uniform.”
Plascencia stated he tried to grab the student from the left arm to escort him to class, but the student started to resist. Plascencia said he restrained the student because he thought the student was going to hit him, according to court documents.
