Security guard arrested at illegal marijuana dispensary
San Bernardino CA March 4 2018 San Bernardino police on Thursday shut down a marijuana dispensary suspected of illegally operating on Sierra Way, in the city’s north end.
Officers issued nine citations and seized 26 and a half pounds of marijuana, 37 and a half pounds of edibles, 15 pounds of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) oils and waxes, 31 THC drinks and $1,366, according to Lt. Mike Madden, police spokesman. It was all for operating an unlicensed dispensary, he said.
There was one felony arrest for a person who was a security guard and had a firearm, according to Madden.
The building, at 4775 North Sierra Way, was red-tagged because it had multiple safety violations. The location was the site of the Le Rendezvous Restaurant, which closed in 2015.
San Bernardino continues to work through its dispensary permitting process.
“Absent a permit, you can’t just open up shop wherever you choose,” Madden said.
