Security guard beaten by robber in downtown Syracuse garage

An on-duty security officer in the downtown area of Syracuse was beaten in the head and face, kicked, and stomped on multiple times losing a lot of blood, and left unconscious where she laid for more than two hours police said.
The vicious assault and robbery took place inside a downtown parking garage on Wednesday, police said.
The 42-year-old female security officer saw a man going through her car and approached him when he turned and began to hit her, police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Malinowski said.
The man hit her repeatedly with his hands, and kicked her, leaving her with multiple cuts on the right side of her face, Malinowski said.
Malinowski said that the security officer lay there, in the middle of the day, bleeding, unconscious for more than two hours before police were called and responded to the scene at 200 Harrison St. around 2:21 p.m.
The robber took off with the woman’s wallet and phone, he said.
Police did not release any details or descriptions of the suspect.
