Security Guard In Critical Condition After Shooting In Chicago
CHICAGO IL Aug 11 2020 A security officer on duty in the Loop area of Chicago was shot during rioting and looting during the overnight hours.
The security officer is in grave, and critical condition according to a hospital spokesperson.
The victim was taken to Northwestern Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
The security officer was shot in the 400 block of North Clark Street just before 4 a.m., the Chicago Fire Department confirmed.
The shooting occurred as he tried to prevent a group from looting several businesses.
There was widespread looting and unrest overnight throughout downtown Chicago.
Dozens of businesses were broken into during an incident that appears to be a coordinated effort.
