Security Guard Injured In Freak Accident Involving Ambulance
Saint Lucia May 29 2020 An ambulance hit a security guard in a freak accident Tuesday at Victoria Hospital about 5.33 pm, emergency officials say.
A Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) official told St Lucia Times that the accident occurred as the guard was opening the hospital gate to allow the ambulance to leave.
The COVID-19 designated vehicle had earlier been decontaminated after responding to a virus- related call.
The ambulance somehow hit the man who ended up beneath the vehicle, according to the official.
The victim was treated, stabilized and transferred to the Owen King European Union Hospital (OKEUH), it was reported.
