Security guard injured in shooting at Augusta GA mobile home park

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left a security guard injured on Tuesday morning.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a call around 1 a.m. in the 3800 block of Mike Padgett Highway and found a security guard for the Castle Pines mobile home park with multiple gunshot wounds to the back. The victim told deputies he was sitting in his vehicle when he was shot.
A witness told deputies he was returning home and saw a bright red older model vehicle pulled up behind the security guard, a male exiting the driver side and firing a “machine gun” into the victim’s vehicle. According to the report, the witness told deputies he heard multiple gunshots before the vehicle fled the scene.
Deputies found 27 shell casings at the scene.
