Security guard injured in shooting outside Pine Bluff casino; 5 suspects wanted
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. March 13 2021 Five people are wanted after a shooting at a Pine Bluff casino Thursday left a security guard injured, police reported.
Tirek Langel, 22, Kuro’n Lavell Brown, 21, Brandon Burnett, 27, Joshua Mcafee, 27, Dontarius Slater, 26, are wanted for first-degree battery.
Around 11:13 p.m., members of the security staff had to escort the suspects outside of the Saracen Casino Resort due to a disturbance, according to police. Once the suspects were outside, they went to the parking lot where at least two of them pulled out a gun.
Police said the suspects then started shooting at the security officers before driving off in a dark-colored passenger car, possibly a newer model Nissan Altima.
One security officer was reportedly shot in the abdomen. The officer was taken to an area hospital for a non-life-threatening injury.
An exterior wall of the casino was also damaged in the shooting, police reported. Two cars were also damaged.
An investigation is ongoing.
The casino said in a statement: “The safety and security of our guests and our staff is always our highest priority. The relationship with our local law enforcement is incredibly strong and we have been actively working alongside them since this incident occurred. Cameras capture multiple angles of this property, both inside and outside, and that includes last night’s suspects. We are in the process of reviewing video with law enforcement as we speak and will be fully cooperating with the investigation moving forward.”
