Security guard injured when shoplifters attempted to flee

A security agent suffered minor injuries after attempting to stop a couple shoplifting who then fled the scene.
According to State Police, the incident happened at the Kinsley ShopRite in Chestnuthill Township in Monroe County Friday evening around 8:23 PM.
Security personnel with ShopRite noticed a man and woman filling a shopping cart and leaving without paying.
Security stopped the woman outside of the store and confronted her about the theft.
The man was able to return to their vehicle, a mauve-colored Buick, and drove his car to where security had stopped the woman in front of the store.
The woman pushed passed security as they attempted to speak to the man in the car through the open passenger door.
The couple fled the scene causing minor injury to one of the security agents as they took off in their vehicle.
Through investigation, the suspects were identified as Kristen McCloskey and Stephen McCloskey of Blakeslee.
The couple was located at their place of residence later that night and were found to be in the process of changing their hair color.
The McCloskys were arrested and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, retail theft, and operating a vehicle under a suspended/revoked license.
They are both being held in the Monroe County jail unable to post bail.
