Security guard murders co-worker
WALNUT CREEK CA

A Walnut Creek security guard turned on his co-worker Thursday night, killing the fellow security officer with a metal pole at a construction site, police said.
Hakim Madjour, 34, of Concord was arrested on a charge of murder after he “violently and unexpectedly attacked” 60-year-old Harry Swayne of San Pablo, who also patrolled the construction site, according to authorities.
A call at 6:52 p.m. Thursday reported a “disturbance and possible assault” to police.
Responding officers determined the attack took place near a BART station at a construction site on the 1800 block of Lacassie Avenue.
Police quickly surrounded and moved into the area of the assault and found Swayne suffering from “severe head wounds,” which they determined to be the result of blows from a “large metal pole.”
Despite attempts to save him, Swayne was pronounced dead on the scene.
Madjour was arrested and taken to John Muir Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.
He was then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility, where he was booked and is currently being held on $1 million bail.
“No one else was injured and no suspects are outstanding,” said Lt. Joe Donleavy, a spokesman for the Police Department.
