Security guard shoots car burglary suspect in SE Houston
Houston TX November 16 2018
A security guard shot a man who was allegedly breaking into a car in southeast Houston Wednesday night, police said.
The guard was working in the 9900 block of Windmill Lakes around 9:30 p.m., when he saw several men breaking into cars in an apartment parking lot, said Lt. Larry Crowson of the Houston Police Department.
After going over to confront the men, the security guard saw that one of them had a pistol. He shot at the suspect, in fear for his life, Crowson said.
The suspect was shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital. He’s expected to survive.
The other suspects fled in a maroon vehicle, Crowson said.
