Security guard shoots suspect after suspect assaults security, makes threats
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD Sept 17 2018 Baltimore County Police say that they are investigating a shooting that happened around 10:30 p.m., on Saturday night.
Police say the shooting happened at 15 De Septembre Bar and Lounge on Hollins Ferry Road, after a security guard was threatened, then nearly run over by a partygoer.
The suspect, a 25-year-old man, reportedly became angry after not being allowed into a party and began threatening the other party goers.
The suspect then allegedly fought with security guards when he was escorted away from the property. Police say the suspect got into his vehicle and sped toward a uniformed security guard, who tried to move out of the way.
The security guard then reportedly got his firearm and fired a single shot into the suspect’s vehicle as the security guard was struck in the lower body by the suspect’s truck.
The suspect then fled the location and was stopped by Maryland Transportation Authority Police a short distance away.
The suspect was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the lower body, but is expected to survive.
The security guard, who is not a police officer, but does have a permit to carry a weapon, suffered minor injuries.
The Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit is continuing their investigation into the incident. At the end of the investigation, the case will be looked at by the Office of the Assistant State’s Attorney for Baltimore County for determination of charges
