Palm Springs CA December 31 2022
A driver allegedly stabbed a security guard in the arm early Friday morning after being confronted about their reckless driving, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
The victim’s injuries are not life-threatening.
The stabbing was reported around 5:36 a.m., Lt. Gustavo Araiza said.
He said the driver was supposedly driving recklessly and cut off the security guard before going into Rimrock Plaza, located on the 4700 block of East Palm Canyon Drive.
“So (the security guard) went over to chat with them, basically see what was going on,” Araiza said. “And at that point, as they were having a conversation, the suspect produced a knife and stabbed him.”
The victim drove himself to the hospital before contacting police, Araiza said.
He said police are working with him to get more information about the suspect.
