Security guard stabbed in Tempe parking garage
TEMPE, AZ March 21 2019— Tempe police confirmed that a security officer was attacked, stabbed and is in serious condition.
Police were called to a parking garage Wednesday morning by a citizen reporting that a security officer was bleeding in a stairwell of the garage.
Police and paramedics responded to the scene near Priest Drive and Broadway Road and said that a security guard was attempting to put out a small debris fire on the fourth floor of the garage.
While the security officer was doing this, an unknown suspect approached and stabbed him in the stomach.
Police are investigating but do not understand what happened before the stabbing and say there is no suspect description available at this time.
 They’re reviewing security footage to learn more about what happened.
In the meantime, the security officer is listed as stable but serious condition.
