Security guard wounded in Lancaster shooting that killed one
LANCASTER, Pa. December 1 2022
Lancaster police are still looking for the gunman in a shooting at the ‘Prince of Subs’ Bar and Restaurant on S. Prince Street that left one man dead and another wounded.
Police have not identified the wounded man, but security guard Chris Johnson says he was the one who was hit.
Chris Johnson has worked security at the Prince of Subs for 30 years.
“You can’t do this for 30 years and not have some kind of respect out there,” Johnson said.
But the job turned into a nightmare on early Monday morning when Johnson opened the door for a customer who was leaving.
“Next thing I know, as soon as he took a step out of the door, gunfire went off five rounds,” Johnson said.
Twenty-nine-year-old Luis Sanchez was shot and killed; Johnson was wounded.
“There was nothing I could do to help him and that makes me feel bad. He looked at me in my eyes, I just keep seeing that and haven’t been able to sleep,” Johnson said.
Johnson is in pain and can’t put pressure on his leg, but he should make a full recovery.
