Security guards lock themselves into van during robbery
Salford England Feb 20 2018 Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to after a cash-in-transit robbery in Salford.
A security guard was threatened with a weapon while he tried to lock himself in his van during the ‘frightening’ ordeal near a primary school.
Detectives said a man parked up on Greenland Street, just outside Willow Tree Primary School, before approaching the victim’s van.
The security guard tried to lock himself in his vehicle, but the man stopped him and threatened him.
The guard handed over the cash box before the man ran away, in the direction of Eccles Road.
The robbery took place at around 10.30am on Sunday, February 4.

Det Con Philip Kumeta of GMP’s Salford team, said: “It is frightening that the guard was threatened and had money taken so violently when he was simply doing his job.
“We have released images of a man we wish to speak to in connection with the incident, but we need the public’s help in identifying who the man is.
