Security guards shot by patron in Nashville
Nashville TN October 14 2019
Two Nashville security officers have been shot in the midtown part of the city overnight.
Metro Police said they were called to a hookah bar called ‘Tarboosh’ on 21st Avenue North around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Two security officers had been shot by a patron who was being kicked out of the establishment, according to police.
The suspect fled from the scene and police are currently searching for him.
They said both victims were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life
threatening injuries.
Metro police said that they had no other information and that the shooting remains under investigation.
This is not the first time that there have been incidents involving private security at Nashville area hookah lounges.
In November 2018, a security officer was stabbed during a confrontation and in May of 2018, private security was involved in a shooting at the Medusa Nashville on Church Street where one person was killed.
Another shooting also occurred at the Lebanon Knights Hookah Bar on Charlotte Pike in January.
And police also investigated another fatal shooting by security guards at an east Nashville hookah bar where one man was killed in December 2017.
