Security helps police nab burglary suspect

A 27-year-old Oakland man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and related crimes early Saturday morning after police were told someone was breaking into a bicycle storage unit, officers said.
The burglary was reported at 5:22 a.m. Saturday at a secured parking garage in the 3900 block of Adeline Street, police said. A security guard was able to tell officers where the suspect, Hector Mendozaherrera, was in the facility.
He was taken into custody about a block away from the garage after a short foot chase, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
