Security officer, armed suspect taken to hospital after altercation at River Park Square
SPOKANE, Wash. February 18 2019- A security officer at River Park Square was taken to the hospital after an altercation with a suspect Saturday.
According to authorities, the suspect, 26-year-old Justin Baldwin, was originally contacted by the security officer for being in an area of the mall that was roped off/restricted at the time.
Baldwin then assaulted the security officer who went to contact him, according to police.
The security officer and the suspect were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect was later booked for trespass, illegally concealed firearm, 4th degree assault and possession of a schedule 4 controlled substance, according to police.
Suspect in River Park Square had a firearm, but it was not used.
The suspect also had a firearm, but it was not used during the altercation.
