Security officer assaulted during alcohol theft
WATERLOO Canada January 1 2022— Regional police are looking for a man who ran off with stolen alcohol after allegedly assaulting a security guard in uptown Waterloo.
At around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, police were called about a robbery at a business on King Street South, near William Street.
The suspect concealed alcohol and attempted to flee the store when he was stopped by store security, police said. The security guard was assaulted and sustained minor injuries, and the suspect fled on foot.
Police describe the suspect as white, between 40 and 50 years of age, standing around five-foot-nine, with a thin build and short hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with a navy blue jacket underneath, dark blue jeans, white and grey shoes, a black and red Canada ball cap with white writing, sunglasses and a blue face mask.
