Security officer injured, none killed during Surfside Florida condo collapse
Surfside Florida July 11 2021
Almost three weeks after the collapse of the Champlain Towers South on June 24, 2021, a search
of the rubble continues to recover more than four dozen people who are believed to be still missing and presumed dead.
Rumors and reports have come into our offices that a security officer was among the deceased.
We have been investigating this for over a week and have now verified that one security officer on duty during the 1:20 a.m. collapse was injured but that there is no report of that a security officer has been reported deceased.
As of July 10, 2021, a total of 86 people has been confirmed to have died, with 11 injured and up to 43 unaccounted.
The complex did employ a full-time security staff.
