Security Officer Killed At FedEx Center
Rialto CA Nov 13 2017 A security officer working at the FedEx distribution center in Bloomington was killed Friday, Nov. 10, when he was struck by a vehicle.
Department of Industrial Relations spokesman Frank Polizzi said Cal/OSHA is investigating the fatality.
No other details on the circumstances of the incident were immediately available.
The victim was an employee of Allied Universal, Polizzi said, which provides security, janitorial and staffing services.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the individual involved in this accident. Safety is our highest priority and we are cooperating fully with investigating authorities at this time,” said FedEx spokeswoman Meredith Miller.
About 1:30 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a report of CPR in progress at FedEx at 330 W. Resource Drive, San Bernardino County Fire Department spokesman Eric Sherwin said Monday. A person suffered fatal injuries there, Sherwin said.
He referred other questions to the Rialto police and fire departments, which could not be reached for comment Monday
The name of the security officer has not been released.
