Security officer scares off bank robber
OMAHA, Neb. Jan 13 2018Â An attempted bank robbery Thursday ended quickly as a security officer confronted the robber and he fled.
Police responded to Bank of the West, 4724 S. 24th just before 5 p.m. for a report of an attempted bank robbery.
Witnesses said the male suspect entered the bank and demanded cash from the security officer.
The security officer then yelled at the suspect to leave.
The suspect left and got into the driver’s seat of a 2007 Blue Dodge Caliber.
No weapons were shown during the robbery attempt.
The vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction of travel. Anyone with information is urged to contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 444-STOP.
