Security officer shoots man at Vistula Manor
TOLEDO, Ohio July 312020
A security guard at Vistula Manor shot a man Wednesday night after an altercation at the apartments on Cherry St. in Toledo.
According to Toledo Police, they responded to the 700 block of N. Erie after a fight and shooting reporting.
Police said that they found James Sawyers, 30, suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported by Toledo Fire to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Matthew Burwell, a security officer at Vistula Manor, told police he shot Sawyers as a result of an altercation.
The security guard was detained pending further investigation.
Police continue to investigate the shooting.
