Security officer shot, woman dead in shootout at Dallas motel
DALLAS TX Aug 14 2020 – A woman was killed and a security officer was wounded when they shot at each other during a confrontation at a motel in northwest Dallas.
Police responded at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday to the shooting in the lobby of the Motel 6 at Regal Row and Stemmons Freeway near Love Field.
The woman and the armed security officer each pulled guns and fired at each other. As the woman got into her vehicle and was driving away, the security guard continued shooting at her SUV.
The bullet-riddled SUV came to a stop in a nearby parking lot. The woman was found dead inside.
The security officer was taken to a Dallas hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Dallas police detectives are investigating the shooting but do not know what started the confrontation.
Police have not said if the security guard will face any charges.
