The holiday weekend has left two security officers dead, three others wounded, and a security patrol car with multiple bullet holes in it.

A security officer in Arizona was shot to death to death at a nightclub after refusing to allow entry to a man and a security officer in California died from gunshots after an attack at an apartment complex.

Meanwhile, a Portland security patrol officer making his rounds came under fire leaving multiple bullet holes in the vehicle and the security officer with minor injuries.

A man sitting in a darkened car jumped out and ambushed the security officer as he drove by. The man shot at the vehicle five times.

Several other security officers were shot including a Nebraska officer who was guarding a fireworks stand. Police said that during an attempted armed robbery, the security officer exchanged gunfire with the suspect and was shot.
