Security spots armed man at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center leading to arrest
Shreveport LA Aug 1 2021 Shreveport Police took custody of 33-year-old Johnathan Watson Friday, July 23. Watson was a suspect in Thursday night’s armed person incident at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center.
Shreveport Police received a call around 7:29 p.m. on Thursday from CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center after a security guard witnessed a man with a gun.
Police and security secured the hospital and no one was injured, but the suspect was able to flee the scene and the weapon was found in a trash can at the hospital.
Police began their investigation and determined that the suspect was Watson. Friday morning officers attempted to take Watson into custody at an apartment on Millicent Way, but he fled on foot.
After a chase Shreveport Police K-9 officers were able to take Watson into custody. Watson suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Watson has been charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and terrorizing.
This incident remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department.
